Day trips of the Delmarva

Adkins Arboretum

I’m going to start with my trip last week to Adkins Arboretum on Maryland’s Eastern Shore.

After a quick stop at the Crumpton Sale, a weekly auction that covers acres and acres with things of  every description for sale  but where you can also buy fine meats and cheeses and a number of wonderful

Amish groceries, I was off to the Arboretum, located not far from Denton, Maryland.

I’m beginning to think Wednesday is my personal adventure day – no one else seems to be anywhere I am going…yay! Incredible weather for walking in the woods…a great reverie until the staff decided that no one was there and it might be a good time to run mowers. But it was a couple of uninterrupted hours of photography and sketching in a very beautiful place 🙂

So many summer smells and colors!
